My Craftsman Lawn Tractor Wont Start!? Help :(?

check on top of the deck there is a safety switch when the deck is dropped if something is wrong or jammed in there it will shut off

1. was the tractor before the first car. true or false?

Not really. Actually a tractor -is- a car. But there were steam tractors in use in the late 19th century, long before cars became popular. They used steam before the internal combustion engine was perfected, and steam engines did not work on cars nearly as well as they did on tractors. They did have steam cars at the same time, but they were not very practical, or very popular. Steam tractors were huge clumsy noisy things, like a small railroad locomotive. If you've never seen one, google 'steam tractor' and look at some pictures.

2. low oil pressure on a massey Ferguson 135 diesel tractor early 60's model?

my answer is try to check it out on auto repair shop

3. Can a lawn tractor be jump-started using a car battery?

yes. follow these safety steps.. make sure ur positive and negative are correct, and do not stand near either battery when trying to start.u know that lawn tractor batteries are good for 1 year only. if u let the machine sit for awhile, the lead breaks down inside the battery and its no good. so be careful, they can blow up.

4. Carb issues with older tractor?

Put the intake hose and filter back on. Having the intake wide open is just going to make it worse. If the float level is right the only thing that could keep fuel from getting through would be clogged orifices. Watch the choke while you work it to be sure it's closing right. I've seen a lot of people who thought they would gotten the orifices but missed the ones for idle. Make sure there's no leaks between the carb and engine. Water in the gas is always a possibility when it's been sitting a few months.

5. Is there any power upgrades for a 2210 john deere tractor?

super charger better wheels

6. How long should a properly maintained John Deere lawn mower/tractor last?

Very good question and I happen to know the exact answer, or at least what the industry professionals say and it will blow your mind. Brand new riding mowers are meant on purpose to last 3 years. Consumer reports calls the John Deere number one, husqvarna number 2, and so on. So I dug a little deeper and found some crazy info. To be competitive at the big box stores, they really shave some corners to save money so it can be used somewhere else. Like, JD has the quick detach system that no one else has that is actually extremely cool. Instead of taking a lot of time bolting on and off attachments, theirs just pop in little holes in special grommets on the body. I have this and I love it personally, but what they give up is crazy. Ever notice how a new JD riders, after a few years, the paint starts flaking off in big sections on the main body and the mower decks? Its because they dont use primer before their paints. Now, not on all their mowers but just the ones sold at lowes and home depot. Their direct to metal paints last about 3 years, and then just regular hosings off will rip huge sections of paint right off...And theres lots of little things most people never see on a rider that makes them better than most...Like pay attention to the front spindles, JDs can be replaced when they wear out, some brands they simply weld a washer on top but then its froze to the mower for life. And they come with bushings in the front wheels, but they are the same size of bearings so you can actually take out the bushings and replace with sealed bearings and then they last for years. Cheaper brands wheels just have the center of the wheel greased running right on the spindle. Well when they wear out theres nothing you can do. Hence disposable mowers. Even the added levers and rods to give you cruise control costs extra money which drives up the price of the Jds. Theres lots of subtle differences that make the mower 2 grand instead of 11 hundred. Now heres the part that will really flip your lid..Years ago these trade experts did a huge study and came to a crazy conclusion. Lets not spend extra money to make them last longer than 3 years, and heres why. They found out that because people spend 2 grand on a mower they think its so expensive, you dont have to do anything to them except put gas in them and air in the tires. Yes, thats it. Well any do it yourselfer, or any man with a brain for outdoor power equipment knows theres nothing farther from the truth. So why 3 years? Because the whole first year the unit runs perfect. The second year, they start getting flat tires and wearing out belts. 3rd year and the motor blows up, flat tires, deck spindles and blades are all wore out jumping belts, rear transaxles slow down or completely stop on the hydrostatic models, and the paint is peeling. Junk them and cant wait to come home with another brand new one to show off to the buddies. All of the above is the craziest shit Ive ever heard of. You have to change the oil, clean or replace the air filters, replace every bearing on the damn things (wheels, spindles, axles, stearing, blade spindles) to keep them running like new. Keep all the joints greased and the transaxles fluid changed and filters replaced. If you get a hole in a tire, replace the tire, dont just put air in it for the day, and also every time you mow from there on out, because of a slow leak. Sharpen or replace the cutting blades, hose off or use compressed air to keep the mower clean, and most of all try to keep them in a garage or building with some kind of climate control. If they freeze in the winter plan on buying a new battery every spring. And on and on.Now Im very proud to say that my John Deere la135 was built in 2008 and looks just like the brand new ones on lowes floor, except for the newer model number. I do all my own maintenance and Id say I spend anywhere from a hundred to three hundred a summer to keep it perfect year round. If a part goes bad, I replace it instantly so it doesnt wear out something else. I run amsoil synthetic in it, and it still looks brand new down in the engine. So about a third, maximum, of a new mower. But shes 11 years old now and with its upkeep done properly I think I can get 30 years out of it no problem. So theres your answer. Now a lessor brand, anywhere from 5 to 10 years depending on how well your storing it and keeping up with the maintenance, but theres some things you cant fix.Hope this helps, good day...How long should a properly maintained John Deere lawn mower/tractor last?.

What is the reputation of Gravely Ariens lawn/garden mower tractor equipment? You should not have too much problem with one of these mowers. The new gravely is geared more toward the commercial side of lawn care. Having already sold and worked on Ariens, i can say they are good mowers. Not the old charm of driving a John Deere but very well built. The old adage still applies, "you get what you pay for". Your dealer should have some info for you to compare to other brands if you like. Good luck!.5. On a tractor trailer, how do you distribute the allowable 80,000lbs?12,000 on the steers, 34,000 on the drives and 34,000 on the trailer tandems. These are the legal limits on a non- spread axle trailer combination vehicle. On a spread axle combination, you may run 20,000 on a single axle as long as there is a 10 foot spread. Some states such as Virginia recognize the steering axle as a spread axle and will alow 20,000 on the steers, but you still must be 80,000 GVW or under and not have more than 34,000 on any set of tandem axles.6. Do you think driving a tractor trailer is easy?My wife and i are team drivers. we go to Cali and back every week. I hate LA, I hate LA, I REALLY HATE LA.From the 210 in Pasadena to Indio, it took over 5 hours. Now I try to be very patient and courteous, but after an hour that goes out the window. Thank God we have an Automatic Freightliner. In 10 years you can ask that same question you will get the same answer. Nothing will change, only it will get worse. More idiots with DL's. Can you help me get it running, please?A neighbor was killed on one of those. Personally, I would not drive any tractor that did not have a roll bar. Those old tractors do not get good fuel economy, and in my experience, they require a lot of tinkering. I think they take someone that really loves old equipment, and likes to fiddle with things. I like my modern diesel tractor a lot better (yes, I rolled one with a roll bar, too - saved my life)12.
